Today, 9 December 2025, as part of the implementation of activities within the Pink Villains Project, an educational workshop was held at the Visitor Centre The Drava Story for municipal wardens and employees of the Public Institution.
Following the introductory remarks by the Director of the Public Institution Priroda of Virovitica-Podravina County, Tatjana Arnold Sabo, nature ranger and project manager Karlo Fičko delivered a presentation on invasive alien species, explaining the importance and necessity of controlling the spread of invasive alien species. The participants were also presented with the activities implemented during the second year of the project. Given that the problem of the spread of invasive alien species is continuously increasing and that they represent one of the key causes of biodiversity loss, the conducted training will contribute to the establishment of systematic monitoring of their populations in the area of Virovitica-Podravina County.
All participants of the training were provided with a Handbook on Invasive Alien Species in the Area of Virovitica-Podravina County, developed within the framework of the project.
